The new lander of Chandrayaan 3 will be equipped with four motors instead of five ensuring enhanced stability during the landing phase.
Chandrayaan 3 will be carried into space by the LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark-III), India’s heaviest rocket. With a gross lift-off weight of 640 tonnes and a length of 43.5 meters.
The spacecraft is expected to touch down on the lunar surface on August 24, 2023, during a period when sunlight falls on the moon.
