This initiative is a significant step towards improving the livelihoods of our dedicated farmers and helping them achieve financial security, self-sufficiency, and overall prosperity.

The Maharashtra government’s initiative offers crop insurance to our farming community at an exceptionally low premium of just 1 percent. This is a significant reduction from the standard Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, which charges a 2 percent premium. By contributing only 1 percent as their insurance premium, farmers can benefit from this scheme. This may seem like a small reduction, but it can provide substantial financial relief to our farmers. The government is investing approximately Rs 3212 Crore per year in this scheme to support our farming community.
